Formula Or Not?

There has always been a large debate on whether breastfeeding or formula is the best way to go when it comes to feeding your newborn baby. This is the second part  in a two part blog. In this part we will speak about the pros and cons of Formula Feeding.

Pros

When it comes to formula feeding there are some benefits that many people don’t take into account when comparing it to breastfeeding. One of the main advantages of using formula is that it is possible to share the responsibility of feeding. After being pregnant for 9 months it would only make sense that the person would like to rest. When formula feeding, the partner can also wake up and feed the baby in the middle of the night.

Another key benefit is like we mentioned in the previous blog. You will have full control back over your body, you do not have to limit your consumption of certain things like caffeine.

Cons

There are some great benefits when it comes to the convenience of formula feeding. But with the convenience comes with drawbacks. Some of the key benefits that existed within Breastfeeding was the fact that the immunity advantages are missing. Some of those include lower risk of cholesterol, obesity, and other things.

One of the other disadvantages is that the price of formula can be a hefty fee. According to drugwatch.com(https://www.drugwatch.com/baby-formula/breastfeeding-vs-formula/) “Baby formula can cost on average between 800 and 2800 dollars per year,”
